At Opelika Community Theatre, our youth training program follows the S.T.A.G.E. model: Storytelling, Theatre, Arts, Growth, and Expression.
Students grow through progressive levels of theatre training while developing creativity, confidence, and performance skills.

S.T.A.G.E. EXPLORERS
Ages Kindergarten–9 Years | 1 Hour Weekly
Students are introduced to theatre through storytelling, theatre games, character play, and creative movement. This level focuses on imagination, expression, and building confidence on stage.
S.T.A.G.E. ARTISTS
Advanced Students | 2 Hours Weekly
Students receive more focused training in character development, script analysis, stage technique, and performance leadership while preparing for major roles in productions.
Annual Youth Production
Each year, students from the O-ACT Academy participate in a full youth theatre production, giving them the opportunity to apply their training on stage.
S.T.A.G.E. Performers
Ages 10–17 Beginner / Intermediate | 2 Hours Weekly
Students begin developing acting technique, improvisation skills, ensemble work, and stage presence. Classes also introduce musical theatre dance styles and basic performance technique.
OTHER PROGRAMS
S.T.A.G.E. Summer Musical Theatre Intensives
Three-week summer camps where students rehearse and perform a full junior Broadway musical while learning acting, choreography, and performance skills.
S.T.A.G.E. Storytime Outreach
Our interactive storytelling program introduces younger children to theatre through books, puppets, music, and imaginative play.
